April Agon
All throughout April, we will be hosting some short writing contests to the forums with various styles and prompts. These will be posted on Monday and will close Friday at midnight GMT.
Weekly prizes will be handed out, as well as prizes for the entire month, for things such as frequency of participation and overall quality.
Week 4: Results
With the month ramping down, so did the entries. However, we still had quite a few to go over, and in the end we decided to award lovetodeviate her second prize of the month.
Her dialogue-driven piece, The Harsingar Tree was a quick choice for this week's winner. She will receive a 3-month subscription, as well as a lit-themed mug.
This was the toughest prompt of them all so far, so although it had the fewest results, we still managed to get an excellent winner to showcase. Well done to all the entrants.
Overall Contest Results
The whole month of April was a really strong one for poets. We saw quite a lot of people taking part in National Poetry Writing Month, one a day, and we saw quite a lot of entries into the April Agon competition. We'd like to thank everyone who entered, but would like extend a bit of a bonus thanks to a few people who really made an impact during this whole epic.
One participant has shone through during April's four contests. She's consistently put her work forth into the fray -- and it's been of a consistently high standard. So congratulations to lovetodeviate for her efforts. She wins $20 worth of dA prints.
Two other participants have been nearly as eager throughout, and put forward some excellent entries themselves despite being runners up each week. Well done to GeneratingHype and MSJames for giving it their all. They each receive a 3 month sub.
Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who made an effort during the month to strengthen their own work and to give us all something to enjoy.
Well done.

It's Full of Stars
It's been a full month since being out of school has really sunk in. It was the time when all my friends who were starting their Masters or second degrees starting going on about their courses or professors, and I was like, I AM DOING NOTHING!
I then proclaimed myself to be a professional. A professional Loafer. It says so on my business cards*.
I've spent the month just getting myself sorted. I didn't do much over the holidays besides eat, eat, and sleep. I didn't even play much Wii, much to my chagrin. Super Mario still sits unfinished, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles sits UNOPENED, and I have a plethora of patients that need saving in

omg ceiling cat is watching me graduate!
Finally finished...
Yeah, I'm done. After 5 years, a lot of money, and way too many sleepless nights I have gotten my Bachelor in Computer Science. Managed to make it through this semester and my final thesis with great success and ended up finishing with a good chance of graduating with distinction. All good things.
I'm sorry I haven't been around, in case anyone was looking. I originally intended to stay around periodically, but I made a commitment to finishing this semester as best I could, and when I spent my first week off dA, I decided I would just go for it. Checked my email, but otherwise di

Toni has taken her leave from my humble abode. It was a really great time, really, when I wasn't up to my ears in homework. We spent some time just hanging around, went to the movies (Knocked Up was really funny) and met up with friends and family. It was just really great, and I was not happy to have her go. We'll be getting together again soon, though, and I'm sure she'll be posting a journal about her time here.
I really haven't spent enough time here, and I apologize.
On that note
Life has been really complicated for me as of late. I've been tied to school, which is one thing, but a lot of

Definitely some cool new toys to play with. It's been a long time coming, and I'm really glad that it's come to pass. Occasionally, people do listen, you know.
Non-lit things!
I've got about 5 days to prepare for a guest. Which means I've really got to start cleaning and such. I've gotten a lot of work done over the last week in order to make sure that I'm ahead on my school work. I don't want to get so tied up that I basically can't slee

I'm honored to be considered among the likes of *lovetodeviate and =MSJames, and probably undeserving. Thank you!
